How it all began

Founder Kyle White grew up in Glasgow, Scotland with aspirations to work in Scotland and see the world. He didn’t waste any time in getting started on achieving these goals and as a student he was selected to go to New Zealand to work with the Saltire Foundation – a charity to help globalise the mindset of the next generation of business leaders in Scotland.

The trip further fuelled his ambition, and on his return to Scotland, Kyle embarked on a PhD in computing science. He developed a passion for real-world applications and helping people achieve efficient, data-driven results through well designed systems. This started during a piece of work with the Saltire Foundation, where in the spirit of giving back (a core value he’d learned during his time in NZ with them) Kyle offered to help automate some of their systems through software.

Surrounded by paper in a small room Kyle realised that there must be a better, more efficient way to manage individuals’ information and so VeryConnect was born!

Growing the VeryConnect team

What started as a team of two in a flat in Glasgow slowly grew into a small talented team with its own office in Glasgow and additional employees located internationally. The customer base grew and VeryConnect started working with a variety of organisations. (Many that are still our customers today!)

These customers provided us with valuable insight so we could add the software functionality they needed in a user-friendly way. This helped us to build a powerful all in one platform that can be tailored to each community’s needs, encourages engagement, and decreases admin time for community managers.

 

Like many areas of life the Covid-19 pandemic created a huge culture shift in how communities, societies and alumni networks engaged. Gone were the opportunities for face to face events, community fundraising and knowledge sharing that were so key to these groups. They had to adapt and membership management software was a huge part of that change. This led to a significant period of growth for us and a new challenge of helping membership organisations connect in unusual times , but we exceeded our customers’ needs and made it happen.

Today we’re a team of 20+ with customers in over 25 countries worldwide that include a range of professional societies, membership associations, international networks, university alumni, non-profit communities and business networks.

VeryConnect is based in the historic West End of Glasgow, Scotland and is an enthusiastic participant in the Scottish Tech Community.

Founded in 2013 we have grown from a team of 2 to a small business of 20+ employees located all around the world. From the highlands of Scotland to the centre of Nepal our talented team has a wealth of experience. We even speak 13 languages!

No sales pitch

We don’t have a sales department at VeryConnect. Our customer success and development teams work with our customers from your first demo, to designing development roadmaps and giving ongoing support. This makes conversations open, and honest and pricing is transparent and based on your needs.
